Middle School Youth Group

The Middle School Youth Group named itself "Connections" in order to say, right of the bat, what they're about.  Gathering to deepen their relationships between themselves, their community, and God, the group usually meets twice a month for fun, fellowship, and service.  The youth group is open to all 6th-8th graders and is led by First Church's Interim Associate Pastor of Family Life, Christine Evans and advised by Susan Simmons and Shelby Thompson.

Youth Group Events

April 1st  Games, Skits, and Looking toward Spring!    4-6pm at the church

In 2012, we’re hoping to focus in a little more and have regular church “home nights.”  We tested this out on Feb 26th, playing “minute-to-win-it games, having some time to talk about a topic and looking over the coming months’ calendar.  We had such a good time that we’re doing it again on April 1st (no fooling!).

April 29th      Harry Potterfest, 4-6 at the church

This idea grew in leaps and bounds on the ride home from our fall apple-picking trip to Russell’s Orchard, and we’ve finally got a date for it!  Come dressed as your favorite Harry Potter character and bring your favorite passage from a book or line from a movie to share.  We’ll have Harry Potter themed games and snacks as well!

May 6th          Walk for HAWC

The 6th and 7th graders will start off May Mission Muffins by baking as a class during church school and selling their baked goods during coffee hour on May 6th to raise proceeds for HAWC.   We’ll leave right after coffee hour to head to Salem for two hours of walking for HAWC, the most comprehensive domestic violence agency on the Massachusetts' North Shore.  Join us for the baking, join us for the walking!  We need to know numbers ASAP, so let Christine know.

Please as Shelby Thompson, Susan Simmons or Christine if you have questions or would like to get involved (978.468.4900).
