The Church was founded in 1644, and a few of our members are descendants of the original founders of the church. The church has had five meeting-houses since its incorporation, and our current building is a picturesque white steepled church overlooking the village green. The Sunday morning sound of the call-to-worship tower bell is a community landmark.
While our congregation deeply respects and cherishes our historical traditions, we are firmly rooted in the present. We recognize the complexity of contemporary issues and endeavor to apply Christian values in the challenges of our everyday lives, using the Bible as an interpretive guide. With the help, guidance and inspiration of our pastors as "fellow travelers on a faith journey," we seek to expand our understandings of biblical, theological and spiritual knowledge. Tradition does not prevent us from embracing change, as we recognize the intellectual opportunity for challenge and growth through this process.
We value personal relationships throughout our church community, creating an effective internal support network that can be relied upon in times of physical and emotional need. As an extension of this network, we support community-wide and international missions in the same spirit.
